Ways To Save Money
CALCULATE YOUR REENLISTMENT BONUS
1. Look up your monthly base pay on the military pay chart. (DFAS)
2. Determine your Reenlistment Zone:
Zone A is 17 months - 6 years
Zone B is 6 years - 10 years
Zone C is 10 years - 14 years (Paid up to 16 years)
3. Look up the correct Bonus Multiplier for your Reenlistment Zone
and MOS.
(see latest messages at http://www.ArmyReenlistment.com/board.htm)
4. Multiply your monthly base pay by the Bonus Multiplier (BM X
BP).
5. Divide this amount by 12 - Round up or down to nearest cent (Bonuses
are paid by months not years).
6. Calculate Additional Obligated Service (AOS) by subtracting your
current ETS from new ETS, as reenlisted.
7. Multiply Step 5 by AOS. This is your Reenlistment Bonus.
(If over your bonus cap, as stated in MILPER Message, you receive
the cap)
8. All Reenlistment Bonuses are paid in a lump sum one time payment.
9. Remember that 25 percent will be deducted for federal taxes.
If you pay state taxes, they will be deducted as well.
