What are the minimum ammunition storage requirements when conducting
a field training exercise (FTX) on an Army Installation in the United
States?
DA Pam 385-64, Table 5-17 recommends 100-ft separation between the
small arms ammo and the living quarters (tents). Paragraph 14-19c,
DA Pam 385-64, requires a minimum of 50-ft between the fuel storage
and the ammo. The fuel should be downhill from the ammo and the
fuel area should be bermed to contain any spill.
